LIQUID HALO HD FOUNDATION SPF 15

 Hello Everyone!

For my first official blog post i thought i would review a recent purchase of mine....... yes the Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation!

'Bring on the flawless! The first-ever foundation with 100% Liquid Light Technology completely evens out skin for a totally natural, luminous finish. (Think gel-covered pigments that mimic photo filters to blur imperfections.)'

I have heard/read lots of hype about this foundation and how it claims to provide flawless HD skin through the use of light particals (Liquid light technology). However, after using this foundation for couple weeks now personally i believe it to not live up to this HYPE! As for a quite expensive product (£27.50 in Boots) i would personally say it won't be a repurchase in my eyes as i have already pushed it to the back of my make up draw and gone back to my old faithful MAC Studio Sculpt (£24).
The foundation is said to be oil-free (therefore all skin types can wear it) although it still has a very slick look finish in my opinion, which can leave your face looking rather shiney like you have completed a true work out at the gym. Not the dewy look which many girls desire. It is a very light coverage foundation, however it is said to be buildable to gain medium courage but....... if you did this everytime you applied the product then you would soon run out. As when i attempted the buildable courage i ended up using 7 pumps of the stuff.  Obviously it is expected to use more for a light courage foundation if you want to build it up but 7 PUMPS! REALLY!
In regards to the wear and tear of the foundation, it did survive a full day at university and work but half way through the day i noticed that my face looked cakey around the nose area which i haven't had happen before.  This happened about 9 of ten times that i wore it.  Even though yes it did give a glow upon first application, the glow did not last and just made me look shiney throughout the day, which meant i had to apply powder to my face midday. This is strange for me because i have normal skin to combination, so the whole t-zone area doesn't normally get oily for me.

Soooo.. all in all... i would say save your money as its more like a tinted
moisturiser than a high end foundation and for me personally doesnt live up to the expectations that i had (sadly).

Although i would like to hear your views on the product and if there was a method of applying it that worked for you. As even after using brushes and fingers i couldnt get that flawless finish.

Thanks Guys :)
